Michelle was prescribed Vicodin in 2000 for a broken foot and she describes remembering really enjoying the way it made her feel. Unfortunately, she had no idea how dangerous that feeling could be until she found herself in a downward spiral that started by stealing OxyContin and eventually turned to using heroin. She would have continued down that path if not for a kind pharmacist who referred her to Grande Ronde Recovery where, thanks to their support she was able to begin her road to recovery.
Now clean for over seven years, Michelle is certified as both a drug and alcohol counselor and a recovery mentor at the very place that saved her, and she is finally able to help people who, like herself have been swept up into the devastating disease of addiction.
Her personal experience with opioids has resulted in a significant appreciation for what Millennium UDT℠ can do to help clinicians treating patients in recovery.
“Definitive drug testing holds our patients accountable and allows us to feel confident in the results every time. Millennium UDT can tell us if the patient is not taking his or her medication and creates an open dialogue for honest discussions with the patient,” said Michelle.
